Let me make it clear that I am not saying that being 48 lbs overweight is gonna kill a person. It however can be a contributing factor to the things that can kill you. I do know I will be healthier if I lose the weight. Being overweight can cause someone to be a better candidate for adult onset diabetes which my mother has(these things run in families) and my dad's mother my grandmother was diabetic as well. So you see diabetes is on both sides of my family tree. I don't want to get there. My father has had multiple heart problems and being overweight can contribute strongly to that as well. So I am trying to nip that process in the bud before these problems bite me in the butt. Mock me? Support me? or Join me? I'll get there one way or another.
Today Carson and his White Jaguars had a soccer game in the morning and as the coach/ref of that game I was on the field for 40 minutes of soccer. They played really well. All of them played hard and had fun. After the game we had our team pictures.
It was a Saturday in the Fall so you guessed it I spent some time in front of the TV watching college football. I love DVR which means I can watch games so fast!!! What used to take 3-4 hours takes 1!
On with the bike ride! Carson and me went on a bike ride on his big bike. His bike he got that came with training wheels was redunkulously too small for him. So he now has a new bigger bike that for now isn't the easiest thing for him to get onto. He has to use the curb to get on it. But once on it he can ride with the best of 'em. Well him and I rode our bikes to his school which is about 1.5 miles away from our house. While at the school we went around the track there which is at least 1/4 of a mile around. So we rode around that 10 times. Then we stopped and played tetherball or as Carson likes to call it chatterball. Then we rode home. In all our bike ride was about 5-6 miles. Good for him to ride that far. He slept good that night and so did I.
Last year I was really in to riding my bike. But my shoulder had problems with it. My shoulder didn't like being in the same position for such a long time(my longest ride was about 22 miles last summer). I got bursitis in my shoulder last year and that, strangely enough made bike riding really uncomfortable. Things were ok today and we got a good ride in. Now Carson wants to do the same ride many more times before the snow flies. I hope the bike riding will help me in doing my 190.
This last week has not been a real successful one towards reaching my goal. I hope to do better.
I had a second job interview on Friday and I am excited and think I have a good shot at that job. Being unemployed even for just 3 weeks so far is scary and frustrating. I believe something good will happen soon.
